New Film, Suffragette, Tells the Story of Women's Battle to Secure Voting Rights
My heart pours with tears of gratitude and inspiration for the courage of our foremothers and sisters. The new film, Suffragette, tells the story of women's fight to secure the right to vote in the early 1900s in England. It is written by Abi Morgan ("The Iron Lady"), directed by Sarah Gavron ("Brick Lane"), and stars Meryl Streep, Carey Mulligan, and a host of other outstanding women. It's already being called an Oscar contender.
Let this be the beginning of more of our stories being told on the big screen. It's time for us to tell them. #Suffragette
