Honor the Mother
By Tabby Biddle
There’s a lot going on for moms right now. Between keeping our families safe during COVID-19, homeschooling and home-summering our kids, managing our careers, fighting for our civil rights, holding space for systemic change, and adapting to all of the daily uncertainties — it’s A LOT.
As a Mom, I’ve been going through the highs and lows of motherhood. Some moments are joyous and everything I could ask for, and other moments are taxing, fatiguing, or downright boring.
Recently I was speaking about this with my friend, colleague and fellow mom, Renée Wilson.
Renée and I are both mothers to young boys, have backgrounds as yoga teachers, and both deeply connected to music/song and voice — Renée as a musical artist, singer, writer, actor and filmmaker and me as a singer, writer, educator and women’s leadership coach specializing in helping women find their voice.
We are also both, what we would call, Stewards of the Divine Mother.
In my case, this means working toward the Divine Feminine ideals of peace, equality and justice. In Renée’s case, this means being a steward of the honesty and deep truth that comes from the Divine Mother and feminine energy. It is important to both of us to be authentic in everything we do and to share this creativity with the world. Our work, our art and our life are about this.
One thing we know for sure is that when we’re caught in the “to-dos” of Motherhood, we sometimes lose connection to the wilder space of the Feminine. Her mysteries. Her vast terrain. Her creative juice. And our own creative voice.
When we’re disconnected from Her (even just a little), we can feel stale, dry and undernourished. We feel “out of sorts.” Low energy. Not quite ourselves.
What gets us back in alignment is rest, feminine movement, nourishment, nature, receiving; and being held in a space with soulful women who “get it” and “get us.”
We know the importance of the work you are doing in the world right now. We know there are triumphs and challenges. We know how much you are giving out. And we know how important it is for you to replenish, restore and R-E-C-E-I-V-E.
With this in mind, Renée and I would like to invite you to:
Date & Time:
July 29th at 11am PT/2pm ET
(90 minutes)
This free gathering is for Mothers and Stewards of the Divine Mother to receive nourishment, and collectively honor each other for the big work you are doing in the world. Whether you've given birth to a child, or are mothering a mission, project or business, this gathering is for you.
Here’s what you can expect from the gathering:
- Connection with a soulful group of women
- A nourishing hour and a half all for you
- Feminine practices to support your well-being
- A sacred space of sisterhood to resource you
We'll engage in a mix of meditation, pranayama, music/song, movement, journaling, sharing, prayer and ritual.
You'll leave the gathering feeling refreshed, renewed and supported by a powerful group of women who understand the important work you are doing in the world and are cheering you on every step of the way.
The free circle/gathering is open to any woman who is “Mothering” right now. Whether this be mothering a child, an elder parent, a business, a project, a mission or other family members.
It’s also for any woman who wants to be held in a loving space where she can be nourished, r-e-c-e-i-v-e, and reconnect with herself and The Great Mother.
If this speaks to you, I hope you’ll join us! RSVP here.
Together, we rise. In sisterhood, we thrive.
